With this project we collect Soap and Shampoo, Toothbrush and Toothpaste, Socks, Grab-N-Go Snacks, Free Meal Coupons and a toy or activity set and distribute them as what we like to call Student Care Kits.

Gifting Grace Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Lafayette, Louisiana, founded in 2020.

Our mission is simple and powerful: to freely love, serve and support homeless and vulnerable children across Acadiana. We believe that when essential barriers are removed, every child has the opportunity to pursue their God-given purpose.

Through quarterly outreach projects, we provide critical resources—such as school supplies, backpacks, coats, hygiene kits, and personalized Christmas gifts—to children experiencing homelessness or housing adversity in nine local parishes. Since our launch, we have reached over 2,000 children annually.

Q. Where should I bring my donation of items?

A. We have several drop-off locations throughout Acadiana that can be found above on this page. Our MAIN drop-off location is our office at 217 Rue Louis XIV, Lafayette, LA 70508. We are open M – F, 8am – 4:30pm.

Q. Is there a way to donate money instead of going shopping?

A. Yes. Click the “Donate” button on this screen and process your transaction there. Checks and Cash can be donated as well. Please make checks payable to Gifting Grace Project and mail to our office at 217 Rue Louis XIV, Lafayette, LA 70508.

Q. Are the items I purchased and my donation to Gifting Grace Project tax deductible?

A. Yes. It is our pleasure to issue you a receipt upon delivery of every gift and donation. The Donor must provide the valuation of the donation they provide.

Q. Can I give the items I purchased to the child directly?

A. Unfortunately, no. As an organization, we work diligently to protect the children’s personal information, including their faces and names, and never release that information under any circumstances.

Q. Do you need Volunteers?

A. Absolutely! Volunteers are vital to the projects and fundraisers we have throughout the year. Volunteers help us pick up donations, pack backpacks and student care kits, sort coats and socks, receive and distribute Christmas gifts, and more. Volunteers are the only reason we have been able to make the substantial impact in our community that we have and we welcome you to join us.

Q. Can my club, church, school, business or other organization adopt a project and donate the stuff collected?

A. Always! Gifting Grace Project wants to be your partner in getting your students, employees, members, and parishioners active in their community.
